2020 Retrospective
(Just a quick warning: this post mentions things like abuse and religious trauma.) -- Thank god 2020 is finally over. Among all the other shit that happened last year (which has already been talked about a lot), 2020 was a year of reflection for me. My life changed significantly, both for better and for worse. On one hand, I finally came out as non-binary again--and this time, I'm out of that closet for good. I spent so much time trying to be the cis girl that people wanted me to be, because I felt safer that way. I know how much prejudice and hatred there is towards people like me, and that still terrifies me. However, in 2020, I finally acknowledged how unhappy I was pretending to be someone else, and decided to embrace who I am--no matter what other people say or do. My mom has been really supportive about it, and I'm really grateful towards her for that. On the other hand, I also came to realize just how fucked up so much of my life has been, mainly my childhood/teen years. I
